Terms & Conditions
Booking is Recommended
We limit the number of people on our tours to keep our group sizes to a sensible and reasonable number. We therefore recommend that you book the tour in advance through the web-site.
You can also book in person 20-30 minutes before the start time of your chosen tour.
Please Check that the Tour is Taking Place
To ensure that the tour is taking place on the day you require please be sure to check our tour dates page.
At the time of booking we will ask you for a mobile phone number. This is simply in case we need to contact you to notify you of any changes to the tour.
We will also use it to contact you should the tour be about to depart and you have not arrived.
Other than for these reasons we will not contact you, nor will we pass your number on to third parties.
Payment is due in full at the time of booking
Full payment is due at the time of booking. You can pay by debit/credit card when booking on the web-site, or if booking in person you can pay by debit/credit card or cash.
Arriving for Your Tour
Once your booking has been made your name will be on the guest list for the night you have booked for.
Please bring the directions to the meeting point of the East Dean Ghost tour, which is outside the East Dean & Friston Village Hall, Village Green Lane, East Dean BN20 0DR.
On arrival, simply check in with your guide. Please bring proof of booking with you.
Please Allow Enough Time
The tour will depart promptly at 8pm so we ask that you arrive at East Dean & Friston Village Hall by 7.45 pm. If you have not pre-booked, please arrive by 7.30 pm to allow time to book.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you allow enough travel time to the tour and that you arrive in time for the 8 pm departure. We will not be able to delay the tour should you be running late.
If you are running late, we suggest that you text your Guide on 07838 343680. However, it is up to you to ensure that you arrive in time for the tour start and, should you arrive late, we cannot guarantee to be able to get you to the tour.
No refunds will be given should you miss the tour because of late arrival.
You accept responsibility for your own safety
Tour participants are responsible for their own personal safety at all times, and we accept no liability for injury, illness or death.
Please be aware of your surroundings and of any obstacles and please take particular care when crossing roads.
Bookings are accepted on the understanding that all participants are normally in good health and able to fulfill the physical demands of the tour.
Please Dress for the Conditions
Please keep in mind that this is an outdoor walking tour of 1 ½ hours duration and that it takes place early/mid-evening when temperatures are usually dropping. The route is a mixture of pavements, roads and stony/muddy tracks.
Please be sure to dress accordingly and appropriately for the conditions on the evening on which you take the tour.
Sturdy walking shows are essential. Anyone wearing inappropriate footwear will not be allowed to join the tour, and no refund will be given.
Disruptive Behaviour
We reserve the right to refuse participation in a tour to anyone who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs. We also ask that you do not bring alcohol to drink on the tour.
Anyone whose behaviour is disruptive or is spoiling the enjoyment of a tour for other tour participants will be asked to leave the tour. No refunds will be given should this happen.
Children on the tour
We do not suggest the tour for children under the age of 14 as the themes covered and the descriptions given are of an adult nature.
However, this is merely a recommendation, and we leave it to parental discretion as to whether or not you think the tour and its themes are suitable for your children.
Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult, who is responsible for the child’s and good behaviour.
Dogs on the Tour
Only assistance dogs are allowed on the tours.
Changes to a Tour
We reserve the right to make changes to any tour, or part of a tour, should circumstances beyond our control dictate. We will contact you if there are any major changes to a tour and will offer you the option of either switching to another date or tour, or of receiving a full refund. In the event of any last minute changes, such as road closures or non-inclusion of advertised section, we will let you know at the start of the tour.
A Tour may be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions
A Tour may be cancelled in the event of inclement weather as part of the route can become muddy and slippery. We will contact you if the tour is cancelled and will offer you the option of either switching to another date, or of receiving a full refund.
